History (Origins)

Since the Edo Period (1600–1868), local farmers have used shino bamboo grown in the Nasu Highlands to produce agricultural-use sieves, baskets and other tools as a side business.

Characteristics (Techniques and Materials)

The curved portions made using soft shino bamboo have a pleasant feel on the hand. These products are also easy to use and highly durable.
